Hank Hannegraaff, the Bible Answer Man, presents a perplexing moral question in the short video, “Is Lying Always a Sin?” In the Book of Joshua, the Bible tells the story of Rahab the Canaanite whore lying to the king of Jericho to protect the identity of the two Israelite spies who were staying at her lodgings in the city. The spies were on a mission to scout out the city’s defenses prior to the Jews’ attack on the city. This was the first of many assaults on the people of Palestine by the Jews in their relentless campaign to ravage, rape, and pillage in their genocidal sweep through what has, ironically, come to be called The Holy Land. The Bible describes the Jews’ murderous migrations as being akin to a horde of locusts sweeping over the land, devouring everything.

The Hebrew invaders were a tribe of predatory desert raiders — ruthless murderers who would enslave the people they captured, murdering any men who were not killed in the defense of their countrymen, and raping the women who were kept as sex slaves. (It’s all in the Bible.) The imposter god of the Israelites, the deceiving spirit Satan, inspired the Hebrew bandits with the promise of ill-gotten gains: “you will eat crops you did not plant and live in houses you did not build.” In other words, the ‘god’ of the Israelites was the inspiration for their criminal behavior (a genetic predisposition to psychopathy was no doubt a contributing factor.) The Israelites were murderous parasites — the Synagogue of Satan, devotees of the Father of Lies. (It’s in the Bible.)

The Jews have not changed, even though thousands of years have elapsed. They are still murdering innocents in genocidal campaigns, stealing their land, their homes, and their crops. Murder, rape, and pillage is still the Jews’ modus operandi (when outright swindling or deceiving their victims, their preferred mode of operation, isn’t going as planned.) Only nowadays the Jewish invaders aren’t raping the women so much … not because they have developed morals and ethics, but rather because it is the men they target now. The Jewish state of Israel can proudly boast the highest concentration of homosexuals, sodomites, pedophiles, rapists, and other sexual deviants in the world. The Chosen People, indeed.

Wikipedia (for what it’s worth) confirms the position of scholars who maintain that the Bible is not to be taken literally; the Bible is comprised of various literary works that aren’t actually true or historically accurate (as Jesus Himself advised his disciples.) Per Wikipedia, “Scholars agree almost unanimously that the Book of Joshua holds little historical value.”

The Book of Joshua was a propaganda piece, one of many such writings that served the purpose of glorifying the Hebrew tribes and advancing the Jews’ master race theology. Looking at the story allegorically, then, we see that ….

Rahab’s lies provided assistance to the murderous band which would assault her community and murder her family, friends, and kinsmen. The woman was a traitor. She is just as guilty of the slaughter of her countrymen as the murderous Israelites who attacked them.

Rahab provided aid and comfort to the enemy of her own people by concealing the Jewish spies in her home. Rahab is truly the lowest form of life — a traitor who betrays her own people, who sells out her family, her kinsmen, and her country. In doing so, the woman sold her soul … and probably for far less than thirty pieces of silver. But this truth is never acknowledged in the story as told from the Jewish point of view.

Notice how this back-stabbing harlot is revered by the Jews, honored and glorified to this day, much like the murderous, lecherous King David. Preserving the life of the Israelite scouts who were planning the attack on her people is seen as valorous in the twisted thinking of the Jews who wrote the Bible (who compiled the Old Testament, anyway.)

Dishonesty, deceit, betrayal, selfishness are not seen as virtues in the Bible, with exceptions — generally when it benefits the Jews. In the Bible, it says that God Himself lies — on several occasions, actually. So there must be times when lying is justified. And it is known that impostors and deceiving spirits lie. Jesus refers to the imposter god of the formative Hebrew people, Satan, as the Father of Lies.

The use of apocryphal Old Testament legends in support of New Testament (Christian) concepts is fraught with peril. In some cases, such as the story of Rahab in the Book of Joshua, it only serves to sow confusion and perpetuate erroneous thinking. It should not be that difficult to find a better example of justification for lying in the Bible. After all, the Bible is full of error, contradictions, exaggerations … and lies.

… Or, maybe, the Bible does not provide us with any good examples of justification for lies and deception … not from a Christian perspective, that is. As I said, it is a contentious issue — definitely something every Christian will want to think about.
